"Hi Folks, I enquired about your services some time ago and am now at a stage where time permits me to remove the shock from my bike. I've had the bike since new and have covered >80,000 k's without touching the rear shock. Ride is harsh and not at all compliant, regardless of what I do to the tyre pressures. Could you please give me some idea of what might be required - I think last time you mentioned the possibility of needing a new spring amongst other things. Also the bike has pre-load and re-bound capability - would these still be operative after a re-build? Thanks."

| The shock on your 1100 is set for someone aroundabout your weight in a touring application.
For us to be certain about the best spring rate for you we would need to test the one on your
shock. The characteristics of your standard shock is basicly that it is underdamped and
has harsh feel with limited adjustment range. We would recommend our 40mm shock piston kit to remove all the problems with your standard shock. This would involve revalving both compression and rebound, regas , reoil and if needed, a new spring. The motorcycle will then resist squat and have a plush compliant feel and be able to drive out of corners more confidently. The front however, requires similar sort of work to give the bike a balanced feel. We would also recommend our provalve damping kit, new spring, which will give the front fantastic dive control a confident feel and stability that will match the rear.
